Platform Trust

Platform Trust is the set of trust mechanisms Vietnam Office applies to each operating system to verify the software source, Package, application, License/Entitlement, device, and execution environment before and during use.

  • General principle — Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS/iPadOS have different distribution and security models. Vietnam Office does not use one identical Trust mechanism for every Platform, but applies controls appropriate to each ecosystem.
  • Windows Trust — Vietnam Office Desktop – Windows is distributed through official Windows Packages. The system may verify Release information, software signatures, Package Integrity, Platform, License/Entitlement, and Device Binding before confirming a valid usage state.
  • Windows Device Trust — Windows uses Device-Bound Licensing. The device is verified through the Vietnam Office supported Device Identity/Device Trust mechanism to associate the License with an eligible device.
  • macOS Trust — Vietnam Office Desktop – macOS is provided through macOS-specific Packages and must satisfy applicable Platform Trust requirements, including publisher verification, software-signing mechanisms, Package Integrity, and macOS security controls.
  • macOS Device Trust — macOS also uses Device-Bound Licensing. License/Entitlement is verified together with Device Binding before usage rights are confirmed on a Mac.
  • Android Trust — Vietnam Office Mobile – Android is distributed through the official Google Play channel. Usage rights are verified through Google Play Store Entitlement together with Vietnam Office Entitlement.
  • Android Package Trust — Vietnam Office does not treat unverifiable APK files as an official distribution source. A valid Android Package must originate from a distribution channel officially published by Vietnam Office.
  • iOS/iPadOS Trust — Vietnam Office Mobile – iOS/iPadOS is distributed through the Apple App Store. Usage rights are verified through Apple App Store Entitlement together with Vietnam Office Entitlement.
  • iOS/iPadOS Application Trust — Vietnam Office relies on the Apple App Store application distribution and verification model; applications obtained outside the official channel are not treated as standard Vietnam Office releases.
  • Platform Verification — During Activation, Restore, Updates, or entitlement verification, the system compares the actual Platform with Platform Entitlement to prevent a License from being used on an unlicensed Platform.
  • Package and Platform must match — Windows Packages are for Windows only; macOS Packages are for macOS only; Android and iOS/iPadOS are distributed through their respective Stores.
  • Trust is not based on the device alone — Trust state is determined from multiple factors including Package/Release, Platform, License/Entitlement, Device Binding or Store Entitlement, and applicable backend verification data.
Platform Trust principle: correct Platform → correct Package/distribution channel → verify Release → verify License/Entitlement → verify Device Binding or Store Entitlement → establish a trusted usage state.
