Version Updates

• Update and Upgrade are different concepts — An Update occurs within the current Version scope; an Upgrade moves to another Version or product generation outside the current Version Entitlement.
• Update example — A customer is using a valid Vietnam Office Version and Vietnam Office publishes a new Release within the same Version Entitlement. The customer may update if that Release is eligible.
• Upgrade example — A customer is entitled to the current Version, but Vietnam Office releases a next-generation Version outside the Version Entitlement. Moving to that Version is an Upgrade and may require new rights.
• Update conditions — Product Entitlement, Platform Entitlement, Version Entitlement, and License/Entitlement must be valid; the new Release must be approved by Vietnam Office and in PUBLISHED status.
• Update does not change Platform — Windows receives Windows Releases; macOS receives macOS Releases; Android and iOS/iPadOS receive Releases through their respective Stores.
• Desktop Updates — Windows/macOS may receive Updates through the Vietnam Office supported update mechanism or the official Download Center.
• Mobile Updates — Android receives Updates through Google Play; iOS/iPadOS receives Updates through the Apple App Store.
• Update does not create a new Product Entitlement — Installing a new Release within the same Version does not change the entitled product suite.
• Update does not increase Quantity — Updating the software does not increase the number of Licenses, devices, or granted rights.
• Updates may change System Requirements — A new Release may require a different operating system or technical conditions. Customers should review System Requirements and Release Notes before updating.
• Updates may change Compatibility — Compatibility with file formats, formulas, layouts, or other functionality may be improved or adjusted by Release.
• Security Updates — Customers should install eligible Security Updates within their Version Entitlement to maintain the supported Vietnam Office security state.
• Do not install unofficial Releases — Updates must come from Vietnam Office or the applicable official Store. Unverified Patches or Packages should not be used.

Update principle: same Product + same Platform + within the current Version Entitlement + eligible PUBLISHED Release = Update; a different Version outside the entitlement scope = Upgrade.
