Restore Usage Rights
Restore is the process of verifying and recovering a previously granted License/Entitlement after Reinstall, operating-system reinstallation, device restoration, or when the application needs to re-confirm usage rights. Restore is not a new purchase transaction.
- Purpose of Restore — To restore a valid usage state based on existing rights without creating additional Product Entitlement, Version Entitlement, Platform Entitlement, or Quantity.
- Restore conditions — Rights are restored only when the License/Entitlement exists and is valid, Product is correct, Version is within the granted scope, Platform matches, Quantity is not exceeded, and Device/Store conditions are successfully verified.
- Restore on Windows/macOS — The system verifies the License/Entitlement and Device Binding. If the device remains consistent with the granted entitlement, usage rights are restored on that device.
- Restore on Android — The system verifies Google Play Store Entitlement together with Product, Version, and Platform Entitlement before restoring Mobile rights.
- Restore on iOS/iPadOS — The system verifies Apple App Store Entitlement together with Product, Version, and Platform Entitlement before restoring usage rights.
- No Product Key required for standard Restore — Restore is based on the License/Entitlement already recorded by the system and the applicable verification conditions; manual entry of a Product Key or Hardware ID is not required on Desktop.
- Restore does not create additional rights — Repeated Restore does not increase Quantity, create a new License, or permit use on additional Platforms or devices outside the granted scope.
- Restore does not replace Device Replacement — If a customer has moved to a new Desktop device, Restore on the new device does not automatically transfer the License from the old device. This case must follow the Device Replacement/Device Transfer policy.
- Restore does not change Platform — Windows rights may be restored only on Windows; macOS rights only on macOS; Android and iOS/iPadOS rights are restored through their respective Stores.
- Restore does not expand Version rights — The system restores only Versions covered by the current Version Entitlement. A new Version outside the entitlement scope requires an Upgrade or new Version Entitlement.
- Cases where Restore may fail — The License is suspended/revoked, the entitlement does not exist, Product/Version/Platform does not match, Quantity is exceeded, Device Binding does not match, or Store Entitlement cannot be verified.
- Internet connection — Restore generally requires an Internet connection so the system can verify the current entitlement state with the backend or applicable Store.
- Backend is the authoritative verification source — Post-Restore entitlement status is determined from authoritative Product Entitlement, Version Entitlement, Platform Entitlement, License status, Quantity, and Device/Store data.
Restore principle: existing entitlement → verify Product + Version + Platform + License/Entitlement + Quantity + Device/Store → restore when eligible → no additional rights are created.
