Reinstallation and Restore Guide

Vietnam Office allows users with valid usage rights to perform Reinstall and Restore when the application needs to be reinstalled, restored after removal, or when usage rights need to be verified again. The process differs between Desktop — Windows/macOS and Mobile — Android/iOS/iPadOS according to each platform's licensing mechanism.

  • What is Reinstall? — Reinstall is the process of installing Vietnam Office again on a device after the application has been removed, the installation has become corrupted, or the software needs to be redeployed. Reinstallation does not automatically create a new License or Entitlement.
  • What is Restore? — Restore is the process of verifying and recovering previously granted usage rights. Restore is not a new purchase and does not increase the number of Licenses, devices, or usage rights granted.
  • When is Reinstall required? — Reinstallation may be required after Vietnam Office has been removed, the current installation is corrupted, the operating system has been reinstalled, the device has been restored, or when the Support Center recommends reinstallation as part of troubleshooting.
  • When is Restore required? — Restore may be used when the application no longer recognizes previously granted rights, after reinstallation, after operating-system recovery, when reinstalling Mobile from a Store, or when the system requires Entitlement re-verification.
  • Desktop — Principle — Vietnam Office Desktop on Windows and macOS uses Device-Bound Licensing. Reinstallation on the same device does not automatically create a new Device Binding; the system verifies the License, Entitlement, and device identity to determine restoration eligibility.
  • Desktop — Step 1: Check the device — Confirm that Reinstall is being performed on the previously entitled device or on a device permitted under the applicable License policy. Also verify the System Requirements for the Vietnam Office version being installed.
  • Desktop — Step 2: Download the installer again — Visit the Download Center and download the official release for the correct platform. Windows must use the Windows installer, while macOS must use the appropriate macOS installer.
  • Desktop — Step 3: Reinstall — Open the installer and follow the Installation Guide. If the operating system requests installation permission, administrative authorization, or security confirmation, follow the applicable Windows or macOS instructions.
  • Desktop — Step 4: Launch Vietnam Office — After installation is complete, open Văn Bản — Vietnam Office, Bảng Tính — Vietnam Office, or Trình Chiếu — Vietnam Office to begin entitlement verification.
  • Desktop — Step 5: Verify License and Entitlement — Vietnam Office verifies the Product, Version, Platform, License, Version Entitlement, Device Binding status, and applicable licensing conditions.
  • Desktop — Step 6: Restore — If the system determines that the device and usage rights are valid, Vietnam Office restores the licensed state without creating an additional commercial usage right.
  • Desktop — Step 7: Complete restoration — After a successful Restore, users can continue using Vietnam Office according to the granted Product, Version, Platform, and Entitlement scope.
  • No repurchase required for an eligible Reinstall — Removing and reinstalling the software on the same device does not automatically invalidate previously granted usage rights. When the License and Device Binding remain valid, the system can verify and restore the entitlement.
  • No Product Key re-entry required — The standard Vietnam Office Desktop Reinstall/Restore process does not require users to enter a Product Key or Hardware ID. Verification is performed through the system's License, Entitlement, and Device Trust/Device Binding mechanisms.
  • Operating-system reinstallation — After Windows or macOS has been reinstalled, Vietnam Office may require the device and License to be verified again. Restore eligibility depends on whether the system can validate the usage rights and device status under the applicable licensing policy.
  • Hardware changes — Hardware changes may affect device identification. If the system can no longer recognize the device as a valid Device Binding, the user may need to follow the Device Transfer process instead of a standard Reinstall.
  • Reinstall is not Device Transfer — Reinstall is used to reinstall and restore Vietnam Office on an eligible device. Moving a License from an old device to a new device is a separate process governed by the Vietnam Office Device Transfer policy.
  • Version Entitlement during Reinstall — Users may reinstall and restore only versions covered by their Version Entitlement. Reinstallation does not automatically grant rights to a newer version outside the granted entitlement.
  • Android — Reinstall — Open Google Play, visit the official Vietnam Office listing, and select Install to download the application again. Do not use APK files or unofficial installation packages for restoration.
  • Android — Restore — After reinstalling, open Vietnam Office and perform entitlement verification. The system uses Google Play Store Entitlement together with the Vietnam Office entitlement system to identify previously granted rights.
  • Android — Restore requirements — Users must use the account or Store context associated with the purchase and meet the applicable Google Play and Vietnam Office Entitlement requirements.
  • iOS/iPadOS — Reinstall — Open the Apple App Store, visit the official Vietnam Office listing, and download the application again on the iPhone or iPad.
  • iOS/iPadOS — Restore — After reinstallation, Vietnam Office verifies rights through Apple App Store Entitlement and the Vietnam Office entitlement system. Where required, users can use the provided Restore function to re-verify existing purchases and usage rights.
  • iOS/iPadOS — Restore requirements — Restore must be performed within the App Store environment associated with the granted entitlement or purchase and is subject to Apple App Store requirements.
  • Mobile does not use Desktop Device Binding — Restore on Android and iOS/iPadOS is based on the applicable platform's Store Entitlement and does not use the Windows/macOS Device-Bound License mechanism.
  • Restore does not transfer rights across platforms — Restore only recovers rights for the applicable platform. Windows rights cannot be restored as macOS, Android, or iOS/iPadOS rights, and Mobile rights do not automatically create Desktop rights.
  • User data and documents — Reinstall/Restore concerns the application and usage rights; it is not a user-document backup mechanism. Users should back up important documents before uninstalling applications, reinstalling the operating system, resetting a device, or making major system changes.
  • Restore unsuccessful — Restore may not complete if the License or Entitlement is invalid, rights have been revoked or suspended, the version is outside the granted scope, the platform is incorrect, the Device Binding is no longer valid, or the Store cannot verify the applicable transaction.
  • Checks when Restore fails — Check the Internet connection, Product, Version, Platform, account or Store context, License/Entitlement status, and whether the application was installed from an official source. On Desktop, also check the device and Device Binding status.
  • No duplicate usage rights — Reinstalling, restoring, downloading the application again, or re-verifying a License cannot be used to create additional usage rights beyond the quantity and scope of the granted Entitlement.
  • Official installation sources — Every Reinstall must use a PUBLISHED release from the Download Center, Google Play, or the Apple App Store for the applicable platform. Do not use installers, APKs, packages, or artifacts from sources not officially published by Vietnam Office.
  • Restore support — If users hold valid rights but cannot complete Restore, they may contact the Vietnam Office Support Center and provide Order, Product, Platform, Version, and error-status information for investigation. Passwords, authentication codes, or other secret credentials should never be provided to support personnel.

Standard Desktop workflow: Download the official release again → Reinstall → Open Vietnam Office → Verify License + Entitlement + Device Binding → Restore → Continue using the product. Standard Mobile workflow: Download again from the Store → Open the application → Verify Store Entitlement → Restore usage rights.
