Offline Use

Vietnam Office may permit some or all local functionality to operate without an Internet connection where permitted by the applicable License/Entitlement, Platform, Version, and policy. Offline capability does not change the granted licensing scope.

  • Offline does not mean Activation is unnecessary — On Desktop, Offline rights apply only after Vietnam Office has completed the required Activation and License/Entitlement verification.
  • Windows/macOS Desktop — After valid Activation and Device Binding, Vietnam Office may use signed License information and required trust data on the device to confirm rights while Offline under the applicable policy.
  • Offline functionality scope — Local document-processing functions supported by the applicable Version/Platform may continue to operate, including creating, opening, editing, and saving documents on the device within the published feature scope.
  • Internet-dependent functionality is unavailable Offline — Functions requiring the backend, Store, online services, or external data sources cannot operate fully while the device is Offline.
  • Initial Activation requires Internet access — A Desktop device must connect to the Internet to complete entitlement verification and Device Binding before Offline rights can be established.
  • Restore requires entitlement verification — Reinstall or Restore may require an Internet connection to verify the License/Entitlement and re-establish a valid usage state.
  • Updates require connectivity — Checking, downloading, and installing Releases/Updates from online sources requires an appropriate Internet connection.
  • Periodic verification — If the applicable License policy requires periodic verification, the device must reconnect to the Internet within the required period or when requested by the system to maintain a valid entitlement state.
  • License status changes while Offline — Offline rights do not override valid License changes such as Suspension or Revocation. When the device reconnects and synchronizes status, the system applies the authoritative entitlement state from the backend.
  • Offline does not expand Version Entitlement — Users may use only Versions/Releases within the existing entitlement scope. Being Offline does not create rights to another Version.
  • Offline does not expand Platform Entitlement — Offline rights apply only to the entitled Platform/device and cannot be used to transfer a License to another Platform.
  • Offline does not create additional devices — Copying application files, License data, or an installation environment to another device does not create a new Device Binding or usage right.
  • Offline License information may not be manipulated — Users may not modify, copy, emulate, or interfere with License data, signed entitlement, Device Binding, system time, or verification mechanisms to extend or create unauthorized Offline rights.
  • Android and iOS/iPadOS — Offline capability on Mobile depends on the functionality of each Release, previously verified Entitlement status, Store policy, and Platform requirements. Operations requiring Store Verification or online services require an Internet connection.
  • Locally stored documents — Where supported by the Platform, users may continue working with locally stored documents while Offline. Synchronization or access to documents from online services is available only when an appropriate connection is present.
  • Not all features are guaranteed to operate Offline — Offline scope may vary by Product, Version, Platform, and Release. Features requiring online connectivity are identified in the applicable product documentation and Release Notes.
  • When Internet connectivity returns — Vietnam Office may synchronize License/Entitlement status, check for Updates, and perform required verification under the applicable policy.
  • The backend remains authoritative — Offline information stored on the device supports continued use within the permitted scope; the official License/Entitlement state remains determined by the Vietnam Office backend.
Offline-use principle: valid Activation first → Device/Entitlement verified → use supported Offline functionality → remain within Product + Version + Platform + Quantity → reconnect when required for Activation/Restore/Updates/periodic verification or Online services → the backend remains the authoritative source of entitlement.
