macOS Licensing
Vietnam Office Desktop – macOS is licensed through Device-Bound Licensing. Usage rights are determined by a valid Product Entitlement, Version Entitlement, Platform Entitlement = macOS, and License/Entitlement, and are then associated with an eligible Mac upon successful initial Activation.
- Licensed product — The macOS License applies to the complete Vietnam Office suite, including Văn Bản — Vietnam Office, Bảng Tính — Vietnam Office, and Trình Chiếu — Vietnam Office. The three applications share the suite entitlement and are not licensed as three independent Licenses.
- Licensed Platform — This License applies only to macOS. Purchasing Vietnam Office Desktop – macOS does not automatically grant rights to use Vietnam Office on Windows, Android, or iOS/iPadOS.
- Licensed Version — Customers may use only Versions covered by the macOS License's Version Entitlement. Rights to one Version do not automatically include every future Version.
- Device-Bound Licensing principle — Following initial Activation, the License/Entitlement is associated with the Mac through the Vietnam Office device identity and trust mechanism. Device Binding is one of the conditions used to verify usage rights on that device.
- Standard licensing flow — Purchase Vietnam Office Desktop – macOS → Order recorded → Payment confirmed → License/Entitlement granted → Download and install the official macOS release → Initial Activation → Verify Product + Version + Platform → Device Binding → Activation completed.
- No Product Key entry in the standard process — Customers do not manually enter a Product Key or Hardware ID to activate Vietnam Office Desktop – macOS. License/Entitlement verification and device association are performed through the electronic licensing mechanism.
- Internet connection for initial Activation — The device requires an Internet connection so the system can verify the License/Entitlement, Product, Version, and Platform and complete Device Binding during initial Activation.
- Activation conditions — Activation succeeds only when Product = Vietnam Office, the Version is covered by Version Entitlement, Platform = macOS, the License/Entitlement is in an eligible state, the granted Quantity has not been exceeded, and the device satisfies Device Binding requirements.
- Installation does not equal Activation — Downloading or installing Vietnam Office on a Mac does not create a License or establish usage rights. Rights are confirmed only after the licensing conditions have been successfully verified.
- A License may not exceed its granted scope — The number of activated devices must comply with the Quantity and conditions of the License/Entitlement. Repeated installation, Reinstall, or Activation does not increase the granted number of usage rights.
- Offline use — After valid Activation and Device Binding, Vietnam Office Desktop – macOS may use supported Offline functionality within the applicable License scope and policy.
- Certain operations still require Internet access — Initial Activation, Updates, Restore, certain entitlement-verification operations, and online services may require an Internet connection even when the software supports Offline use.
- Offline entitlement information — After Activation, Vietnam Office may use signed License information and required trust data to verify Offline usage rights on the bound Mac.
- Reinstall on the same Mac — Customers with a valid License/Entitlement may reinstall Vietnam Office on the entitled device. Reinstall does not create a new License or increase the number of permitted devices.
- Restore after Reinstall — After reinstallation, the system verifies the Product, Version, Platform, License/Entitlement, and Device Binding. If the conditions remain valid, the existing usage right may be restored without repurchasing the License.
- Reinstalling or restoring macOS — After reinstalling, upgrading, or restoring macOS, Vietnam Office may require re-verification of the License/Entitlement and Device Binding before continued use.
- Hardware changes — Hardware or system changes may affect device identity. If the existing Device Binding can no longer be verified as valid, the customer may need additional verification or a Device Transfer under the applicable policy.
- Changing Mac devices — A macOS License does not automatically transfer to a new Mac merely by installing Vietnam Office on the new device. Moving the right must follow the Vietnam Office Device Transfer policy where eligible.
- Device Transfer does not change the Platform — Where permitted, Device Transfer only moves rights between eligible devices within the macOS Platform scope. It does not convert a macOS License into a Windows License.
- A macOS License cannot be used on Windows — Platform Entitlement = macOS is a required condition. Installing Vietnam Office on a Windows computer does not convert a macOS License into a Windows License.
- No automatic Mobile entitlement — A Vietnam Office Desktop – macOS License does not automatically grant rights to Vietnam Office Mobile – Android or Vietnam Office Mobile – iOS/iPadOS.
- Updates within the entitlement scope — Customers may install eligible macOS Releases/Updates within the applicable Version Entitlement and current Release policy.
- Upgrade to a new Version — If a new Version falls outside the current Version Entitlement, the existing macOS License does not automatically grant rights to that Version. An applicable Upgrade or new Version Entitlement is required.
- Use only PUBLISHED Releases — Only macOS releases approved by Vietnam Office and placed in PUBLISHED status are considered official Releases for distribution, installation, Update, Reinstall, or Restore.
- Official installation source — The Vietnam Office Desktop – macOS installer must be obtained from the Vietnam Office Download Center or another official distribution channel published by Vietnam Office. Do not use Installers, Packages, or Patches from unverified sources.
- macOS security requirements — Installation and operation of Vietnam Office must comply with the security mechanisms, system permissions, signature verification, and platform requirements applied by macOS to the applicable Version/Release.
- System Requirements — A valid License does not mean that every Mac is supported. The device must satisfy the System Requirements for the installed Vietnam Office Version/Release, including the supported macOS version and hardware architecture.
- Device architecture — Support for Apple silicon or other Mac architectures is determined by the System Requirements and Release Notes for each Version. Platform Entitlement does not replace technical device-compatibility requirements.
- Enterprise macOS licensing — For organizations and enterprises, macOS Licenses are managed according to the Quantity specified in the Order or contract. Activations must remain within the granted entitlement scope.
- Project macOS licensing — For projects, rights are managed according to the approved Project + Product + Version + Platform = macOS + Quantity + Activation Policy.
- License status — Activation, Reinstall, or Restore may proceed only when the License/Entitlement is in an eligible state. Rights may not be confirmed if the License is suspended, revoked, invalid, or exceeds the granted Quantity.
- License sharing or duplication is prohibited — Customers may not use a macOS License to create additional usage rights beyond the granted Quantity or share rights with devices, individuals, or organizations outside the permitted scope.
- Device Binding or Activation may not be bypassed — Users may not disable, emulate, modify, or interfere with License verification, Device Binding, Activation, or other technical mechanisms used by Vietnam Office to control usage rights.
- The Vietnam Office backend is the authoritative verification source — The backend determines Product Entitlement, Version Entitlement, Platform Entitlement, License status, Quantity, Device Binding, Update/Upgrade rights, Restore, Revocation, and other applicable entitlement conditions.
- Example — Initial Activation — A customer purchases Vietnam Office Desktop – macOS, completes payment, and receives a License. After installing the official macOS Release and launching the application, the system verifies the entitlement, associates the License with the Mac, and completes Activation.
- Example — Reinstall on the same Mac — A customer removes Vietnam Office and reinstalls it on the previously bound device. The system re-verifies the License and Device Binding; if valid, the right is restored without creating a new License.
- Example — Moving to a new Mac — Installing Vietnam Office on a new Mac does not automatically release or transfer the License from the previous device. The customer must complete Device Transfer under the applicable policy where eligible.
macOS licensing principle: purchase Vietnam Office Desktop – macOS → receive the applicable Product + Version + Platform Entitlement → install an official PUBLISHED macOS Release → complete initial Activation through backend verification → Device Binding → use according to the License → Update/Reinstall/Restore within the entitlement scope → use Device Transfer when moving to an eligible device → no automatic transfer to Windows or Mobile and no use beyond the granted Quantity.
